Brioche Knitting Basics with Rosemarie Gagnon

Saturday, March 28 ~ 1:00 – 5:30 pm ~ $65 + materials.

Brioche is a type of knitting that results in a springy, lofty, ribbed fabric. It's a wonderful stitch to have in your knitting tool kit. This is a workshop-type class for learning basic Brioche knitting. Rather than making a finished product, students will make practice swatches to learn the Brioche stitch. Rosemarie will teach the basic brk (brioche knit) stitch; then brp (brioche purl); then how to increase and decrease in brioche; and then 2-color brioche.

Please bring to class:
2 contrasting worsted-weight solid colors of natural, non- superwash wool yarn. Such as: Woolstock 50g worsted wool, Cestari - Mount Vernon collection, Naturally Nazareth, or Elemental Affects Heirloom.
1 circular or set of double-point needles 2 sizes smaller than the yarn calls for (you won't be knitting in the round but will need to slide the knitting back and forth using both ends of the needle.) If you would normally use a 7, in brioche you will use a 5. Min. 3/Max. 5. Intermediate Level.
