This is an introductory course for anyone who is interested in learning the foundations of crochet, whether you have never crocheted before, or have started to learn, but would like to polish your skills. The class will focus on the basic crochet stitches, tools, and terms.

By the end of the class, you will be able to: Identify different crochet hooks and yarn types and sizes; understand basic crochet terms; hold the yarn and hook; be comfortable with the basic crochet stitches (chain stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, turning chain). Students will utilize the basic crochet stitches to complete a simple dishcloth to give as a gift or keep for themselves. You'll learn how to use these stitches on progressively difficult projects.

Materials List - can be purchased from Bazaar Girls the day of the class: One skein of Cestari Sheep and Wool Old Dominion 3-ply DK weight cotton yarn or equivalent; crochet hook, size 5.5 mm. (Note: while we recommend a 5.5 mm hook, you can use any size from5 to 6.5 if you already have one).
