Many knitters avoid knitting sweaters that require seaming and knit only seamless sweaters from the top down. What many don’t realize is that seams can be a sweater’s best friend. They provide stability against stretching (especially across the shoulders and back neck) and they encourage the sweater body to hang straight. In this one-hour online class, Ann Budd will demonstrate the three basic seams used for joining sweater pieces—back, front(s), and sleeves. You’ll learn the Invisible Horizontal Seam (for shoulders), the Invisible Vertical Seam (for side and sleeve seams), and the Vertical to Horizontal Seam (for sleeve caps).
Enrolled students will receive instructions for knitting practice swatches to represent the front, back, and sleeve of a sweater.
NOTE: Enrolled students will receive a link to a recording of the class. If the class time doesn't work for you, don't let that stop you from enrolling. You can play along at home afterward. The recording link will be good for two weeks after class.
I will most likely not be on for the live class, but look forward to the recording.
