Sarah Solomon
A little about Sarah...
Sarah Solomon is a knitwear designer, writer, and teacher based in New York City. With a background in woven construction and dressmaking, Sarah brings a love of details and fine finishing to her hand-knitting designs and enjoys creating and teaching techniques that are simple to master but yield beautiful, long-lasting results. Her interests range from all aspects of traditional hand knitting to re-imagining ready-to-wear and machine-knit details for hand knitters.
Sarah’s patterns and articles have appeared in Interweave Knits, Knitscene, knit.wear, Pom Pom Quarterly, Amirisu, and Vogue Knitting, and in collections by yarn companies large and small. In addition to her self-published work, Sarah has worked as part of the editorial team of Vogue Knitting Magazine and as Director of Knitwear Design for Harrisville Designs, a historic woolen mill in Harrisville, NH.
In her design work, she enjoys creating garments and accessories from exceptional yarns that are knittable, wearable, and designed to last. Sarah is also an avid sewer and spinner and loves handwork in many forms.
Find Sarah’s patterns on Ravelry or her website, www.sarahsolomondesigns.com, and follow her work on Instagram as @intothewool.
Alasdair Post-Quinn
A little about Alasdair...
I am a 40-something computer technician in the Boston area; I spend much of my spare time as a knitwear designer, focusing specifically on double-knitting, a knitting technique that creates a fabric with no wrong side. Until recently, a typical double-knit fabric was either tubular or two-colored with one layer showing a mirror image in opposite colors from the other layer. Over the past decade or so, people here and there have been pushing the boundaries of double-knitting to include more complex color and structure variations.
While I cannot claim to be the only one pushing these boundaries, I am among those on the forefront of innovation in double-knitting. My books, entitled Extreme Double-Knitting and Double or Nothing, document snapshots of my repertoire of esoteric double-knitting techniques (as well as being guides for beginning double-knitters), but I am continuing to develop techniques and apply them to new designs.
Ann Budd
A little about Ann...
Unlike Betty Crocker, Ann Budd is a real person. But her name is equally legendary to knitters, thanks to her classic Knitter’s Handy Book series, which makes it easy for knitters to design garments to their specifications. Ann is particularly known for her mastery of sock knitting and design and teaches sold-out workshops across the country and abroad. Ann lives in Boulder, Colorado. You can find her at annbuddknits.com.
Shana Cohen
A little about Shana...
I am an architect with experience teaching technical and design studio courses in several higher education venues. I bring my experience of geometry and writing design syllabi to my pattern writing. My size-inclusive patterns are mostly modular designs, and mostly garter stitch! In pattern writing, I make legible directions that allow the knitter to customize their work in the process. I pay attention to maximizing yardage and adaptability of styling in my work. Throughout all of my endeavors, I love connecting with individuals and helping them to become the best version of themselves. I aim to write my patterns in a way that fosters this creative expression in you, the knitter. I hope you have fun playing with color and style when working on my patterns. shanalines.com

Most of the classrooms are handicapped accessible, yes. Unfortunately, our banquet hall is not. We are in a historic building, so there are some hoops to jump through to make large renovations. We’re working to change that, but it takes money and time, and won’t happen before April 2025.
are the classrooms handicapped accessible?
We’re glad you’re coming back!
Thank you! We’ve already started scheming on how to make next year special.
Thanks,Jorjan!
Can’t wait to join you again next year!!
Already looking forward to the retreat in April 2025…the teachers look phenomenal and I love the venue! Thank you to Bazaar Girls for putting this all together. We appreciated your energy, creativity and love of knitting and related arts!
This is so worth coming to!
