Welcome to entrelac!

This is an easy technique that only looks complicated. At the same time it’s definitely one of those knitting architectures that needs to be seen to be understood. Lissa Staples will guide you through the steps to knit a simple entrelac scarf.

All you need is 350 yards of a worsted or light worsted weight yarn: 2 contrasting colors is nice, or a solid color, or a hand painted yarn would work well, and the appropriate sized needles (circulars or straight – your choice).

Yarns to avoid at this point would be highly textured yarns such as boucle, thick/thin, mohair blends or novelty yarns with beads or sequins.

The book Lissa will be using as a reference for class is called Entrelac: The Essential Guide to Interlace Knitting by Rosemary Drysdale. There will be copies available at the shop.
